Why I love what I do... "Employment law is never dull. Whether a new case involves alleged discrimination, sexual harassment - or even wage and hour issues - the unfolding of facts always fascinates me. Every case presents new challenges, and I love that. I can't imagine practicing any other kind of law." Professional Experience Nancy S. Paik is an Associate at Villarreal Hutner PC. Nancy specializes in representing national employers in employment disputes involving all aspects of employment law, including wage and hour claims, and claims of wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, misappropriation of trade secrets, and employee raiding. Nancy has litigated a wide range of employment matters in state and federal court, and has federal trial experience. In addition, Nancy regularly advises clients with respect to employment issues including wage and hour requirements, San Francisco's sick leave law, other state and federal leave laws, and employee requests for accommodation. Professional Qualifications and Activities Before joining Villarreal Hutner PC, Nancy represented Fortune 500 clients in employment law matters at Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis LLP, and was an extern for the Honorable Maxine M. Chesney of the United States District Court, Northern District of California. Nancy also was a clerk for the California Attorney General's Office. Nancy has published the following articles: "Just What The Doctor Ordered? What Employers Need to Know About S.F.'s New Sick Leave Law," The Recorder (2007); and "Implied Professional Obligation of Confidentiality Sufficient to Overcome Public Use Defense to a Claim of Patent Infringement?", 4 Chi.-Kent J. Intell. Prop. 332 (2005). Nancy is admitted to practice law in all California Courts and is a member of the California Minority Counsel Program, and the San Francisco Bar Association.
