Why I love what I do... "I love the strategy involved in litigation. Too often, attorneys simply walk through the basic steps of litigation without considering the myriad options at any given stage that may help bring about the best result for the client." Professional Experience Stephen Kennedy Robinson is a Senior Associate at Villarreal Hutner PC. Stephen has broad experience successfully representing clients across a range of employment related claims, including wage-and-hour, discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and trade secret protection. Stephen also assists clients with employment counseling, from drafting Employee Handbooks to navigating the complicated web of state and federal leave laws. Stephen has represented Fortune 500 employers from a variety of industries including high-tech, energy, health care, shipping/transportation, and pharmaceuticals. He has assisted a start-up with hiring its first employee, and conducted a wage-and-hour audit for one of the largest software firms in the world. Professional Qualifications and Activities Prior to joining Villarreal Hutner PC, Stephen represented Fortune 500 clients in employment matters with Reed Smith LLP and Payne & Fears LLP. During law school, he clerked at Oracle Corporation, where he worked in the legal department's employment group. As an undergraduate, Stephen served as an intern with the New York State Division of Human Rights, where he gained a wide variety of experience working on employment discrimination matters. Stephen is admitted to practice in all California courts. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the San Francisco Bar Association. Before Law School... Prior to college, Stephen was a professional musician. In more recent years, Stephen co-founded a non-profit organization that dealt with issues of poverty and wealth distribution and in 2007 he qualified for, and raced in, the Ironman 70.3 World Championships (and successfully did not come in last place!).
